(Bnamericas, 15/10) Electricity demand in Central America is forecast to fall 7.5% through 2024 from previous guidance on account of COVID-19, according to the region’s power grid operator EOR.EOR expects offtake in 2021 and 2024 to hit 53,367GWh and 58,544GWh, respectively, versus pre-pandemic projections of 57,709GWh and 63,277GWh. Under the revised guidance, demand in 2024 in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama is forecast to hit 11,805GWh, 5,970GWh, 12,585GWh, 11,756GWh, 5,130GWh and 11,297GWh, respectively.
